Company colors

Our company colors are an essential element of our corporate design. These colors symbolize the character and the values of our company.

Primary colors

MTU’s primary company colors are MTU dark blue, MTU blue gray and MTU metallic gray. Generous use of white accentuates the primary company colors even more.

The color weighting of the MTU primary colors

MTU dark blue underscores our reputation as a reliable, trustworthy and market-leading blue chip company. It is also in harmony with our business sector—aviation.

MTU blue gray and MTU metallic gray represent our tradition of precision engineering, and our high level of quality and services.

Secondary colors

updated

In addition to the primary colors, a range of secondary colors can also be used in designs.

Secondary – neutral gray series

Secondary – accent colors

The secondary colors are a clear commitment to MTU’s origins. They are used exclusively to add accents and emotion—and their use must be targeted and restrained.

Unlike the bright accent colors, the five shades in the neutral gray series may be used more generously, i.e. also for backgrounds and as fill colors. The colors in the gray series complement MTU’s primary colors and the color white. They support the effect of these colors without competing with them.

Accent colors

updated

The accent colors have been selected with regard to their compatibility with MTU’s primary colors. Unlike the primary colors and the neutral gray series, the accent colors are for emphasis only. The central color impression is always determined by the MTU primary colors.

It should be noted that the old MTU colors, MTU khaki and MTU aqua, will be dropped as part of the update and will be replaced by the new colors MTU sand, MTU green and MTU mint with new color values.

Shading accent colors

updated

In the handling of accent colors we offer the additional option of shading in a dark color configuration. When applying, you are free to use the corresponding color mixture, or to apply the color black in an adding (multiplying) manner. The final result must be equivalent. Shading in the dark color configuration provides more room for maneuver and comes into its own especially in illustrations. For example, when showing fonts in the same color configuration, shading can improve contrast, but it also permits further gradations of a diagram’s accent color.

Background and fill colors

In addition to the wide use of white, MTU’s primary colors and the neutral gray series are permitted for use as background or fill colors. Background and fill colors are used, for example, in print products and in PowerPoint presentations.

Only MTU’s primary colors and the neutral gray series may be used as a background color. MTU’s primary colors should be given preference for color combinations. Accent colors may not be used as background or fill colors. Text box fill color is the only exception.
